Analyst , Conflicts, Quality, Risk & Security, Cardiff- 12 month FTC

Cardiff, Cardiff, United Kingdom, Temporary

Posted: 4 days ago

Description:

Your opportunity

Discover, investigate, influence. Our sharp, analytical minds are relied upon to ensure that Deloitte operates safely in an increasingly complex regulatory environment. Are you up to the challenge?

We encourage consideration of flexible ways of working, both formal and informal arrangements that allow for the best outcomes for our people and our clients. If this opportunity is of interest to you with some flexibility, please do discuss with us.

Your role

The Analyst in this role will work within the enabling functions, Central Business Services (CBS) Quality, Risk & Security (QRS) in Cardiff. CBS QRS is a division of the firm's Quality & Risk management function responsible for a variety of quality, risk, regulatory and compliance service activities. Concentrating the efforts in a centre of excellence helps to ensure a high standard of compliance with the underlying regulations while enabling client facing teams to devote more of their time to providing services to their clients.

A vacancy has arisen for a dynamic and flexible individual with good IT skills (particularly MS Excel) to help meet the increasingly high demands placed on this busy, exciting and innovative team.

Responsibilities

Tasks will include:

  • Acting as the first point of contact for general enquiries from the business.
  • Monitoring email enquiries sent to the team.
  • Initial review of normal risk conflict checks.
  • Overseeing and assisting with the development of the team's administrative procedures.
  • Undertaking ad hoc projects and research for the team
  • Ad hoc work as requested

The individual should also expect to gradually become more involved in analysing and responding to conflict checks and related matters as they gain experience. The regulatory and business environment is such that requirements change frequently and therefore the role is likely to evolve and expand over time.

Your work, your choice

At Deloitte we believe the best impact is the value we add, not the hours we sit at our desk. We carefully consider agile ways of working, both formal and informal, that allow for the best impact for our people and our clients. Please speak to your recruiter about the working pattern that works best for you.

Location: Cardiff

Work pattern: The role can be worked on a full-time basis.

Your professional experience

Our analysts come from a wide range of backgrounds, sometimes with little or no prior experience of financial services. What connects us is our enquiring minds and our ability to deliver a great service.

  • Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to finishing tasks to the highest standards.
  • Some experience in a compliance/regulatory environment.
  • A background in accounting or financial services would be advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with people at all levels across the firm.
  • The ability to work effectively both individually and as part of a team.
  • Resilience and an ability to work accurately under pressure and to deadlines.
  • A constructive approach to problem solving.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgement.
  • Good IT skills.
  • Working/work effectively in diverse teams within an inclusive team culture where people are recognised for their contribution

Your service line: Quality, Risk and Security

The Quality, Risk and Security (QRS) community is an overarching identity for all of the professionals who manage quality and risk for Deloitte. It comprises: Deloitte Business Security (DBS), National Quality and Risk Management (NQRM), Central Business Services - Quality, Risk & Security (CBS-QRS), and Service Line Quality and Risk Management teams (including Switzerland), and is led by a dedicated partner who sits on the firm's Executive. Within QRS, we use our skills and experience across a variety of disciplines to support a risk intelligent culture at Deloitte; enabling our partners and practitioners to deliver high quality services to their clients, minimising the administrative burden on our people, and acting as custodians of firm risk, security, ethics and reputation.

Personal independence

Regulation and controls are standard practice in our industry and Deloitte is no exception. These controls provide important legal protection for both you and the firm. We are subject to a number of audit regulations, one of which requires that certain colleagues abide by specific personal independence constraints. This can mean that you and your "Immediate Family Members" are not permitted to hold certain financial interests (shares, funds, bonds etc.) with audit clients of the firm. The recruitment team will provide further detail as you progress through the recruitment process.
