The Vacancy

The role of Building Surveyor will work within Asset Management, taking responsibility for preparing schemes of investment work or one off projects producing all relevant details and documents to ensure the delivery team function can be successful in the delivery of those programmes of investment and compliance works.

Your main responsibilities will include:

Developing works programmes to address the risk and long term maintenance needs of our client's stock including commissioning and managing specialist surveys

*

Ensuring that all appropriate pre-contract requirements, specifications and technical drawings are developed in sufficient detail

*

Undertaking and managing a range of building pathology inspections and other specialist surveys, providing solutions to rectify issues

*

Overseeing fire risk assessments and balcony remedial works contracts, dealing with structural inspections, producing scopes of work and ensuring providers are meeting all requirements

*

Overseeing the Balcony Structural Compliance, ensuring that we have a comprehensive inventory of balcony assets and that periodic inspections are undertaken

The successful candidate will:

*

Have experience of undertaking a range of building pathology inspections and other specialist surveys

*

Have experience in the management of Fire Assessment Remedial Actions and associated works

*

Have experience of leading on preparing design, specification and contract documents for large projects

*

Hold a recognised qualification (Building Surveying BSc hons or similar) and it would be advantageous to hold a recognised Fire Safety qualification or be a qualified Fire Risk Assessor

*

Have demonstrable knowledge of building construction, building standards, compliance obligations, planning regulations, regulatory standards and leasehold legislation

*

Have demonstrable knowledge of CDM requirements

*

Have experience of planning and delivering housing investment and compliance programmes

*

Have a commercial understanding of value for money drivers in construction and successful implementation

*

Hold a full UK driving licence
