It's an exciting time for us as we continue our journey to be the biggest and best digital insurer. As part of this, we are building out a new claims risk team. You'll have the opportunity to be part of the strategy and implementation to build out the claims risk & governance framework.

The Claims Risk team will also have responsibility for the success of other core governance processes across the department including internal audit, internal assurance, HEAF (SMCR), data protection, system user access, business continuity and contingency planning, ensuring all accountabilities are well executed and outputs delivered on time and to a high standard across the function.

A day in the life might involve:

Supporting the implementation and ongoing management of a Risk and Governance Framework for Insurer Services, creating a culture of proportionate risk management in all areas of activity and accountability

Setting up regular scheduled meetings for Insurer Services Leadership Team, coordinating with relevant stakeholders to prepare associated reporting and drive the timely delivery of agreed actions

Establish activity and adherence levels across several risk related accountabilities within Insurer Services to determine gaps and further requirements, and drive completion of agreed actions

Creating and communicating the annual timetable for Internal audits and Internal assurance reviews, liaising with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate the timely and successful completion of reviews, follow up actions and ongoing reporting

Working with stakeholders across Insurer Services to support robust operational and supplier Business Continuity planning, ensuring these are integrated onto the central risk system, with actions and reviews assigned as appropriate

Support stakeholders with the integration of Insurer Services operational and supplier risk registers into the central risk system, along with control activities, risk acceptances and subsequent tracking and reporting from the system

Work with 2nd line Risk, Compliance and Assurance colleagues to act as a main point of contact for 1st line Risk within Insurer Services, providing updates, reports and assurance on all risk related matters and attending meetings as required.
What we are looking for:

As a growing business this role is critical, it will be exciting, busy, varied and challenging so a hands-on approach is key.

You will have a strong commercial awareness and the ability to coordinate and compile concise, regular reporting with data from various sources. We would like you to be passionate about sharing your ideas to engage and enthuse some of our senior stakeholders on our risk and governance journey, so excellent communication skills are important. A flair for presentations would help a lot.
