Client & Consumer Protection – Risk Policy Senior Manager Europe

The Risk Policy Senior Manager represents Visa on policy related items both internally and externally whilst being the representative or presenting at external industry events as required to enhance the ecosystem. You also need to work with law enforcement, industry cybersecurity, resilience and fraud working groups ensuring compliance to all legislation and privacy requirements.
Key Accountabilities:
• Ability to lead, manage and deliver multiple concurrent high-impact time sensitive projects and direct time and resources (capacity planning) to achieve the best possible outcome.
• Write reports and proposals to key audiences; Risk Committee (ERC), Board Risk Committee (BRC) Regulators (e.g. Bank of England, ECB etc)
• Ability to collect and analyze information, research possible causes, identify trends and choose the most relevant solution.
• Socialise proposed policy changes with the business and industry and incorporating feedback manage internal and external stakeholders (including necessary approval processes) to deliver solutions
• Law enforcement/Judicial and stakeholder engagement and support to implement strategic and tactical disruption of criminal or fraudulent activity being carried out against the Visa payment system or using Visa products.
• Takes the lead in regards to any investigation across the Visa Europe Region, but predominantly in the CE, CEE, FBLUX, Nordics, SE and SEE clusters (geographic responsibility), that involves law enforcement and/or the Judiciary, which includes; data compromise, cash outs, cybersecurity as well as fraud and other criminal activities against the Visa payment system such as money laundering, Intellectual Property crime etc.
• Advises, influences and supports the policy makers, law enforcement agencies and the Judiciary at European, at European, National and local level, with a view to improve risk practices
• Provides subject matter expertise in risk management within Visa Europe which includes working with legal and other departments
• Represents the department through presentations/trainings programmes to client bank forums, in association with Commercial Risk Partners, wider industry and sector audiences promoting risk management areas of focus and fraud reduction activities of Visa Europe
• Identifies, devises and executes plans to address risk issues across Visa Europe at regional, clients and sector levels to achieve departmental objectives
• Contributes to and when directed produces risk management best practice guides for both internal and external audiences.
• Develop and implement risk training to stakeholders within the Visa payment system.
• Liaise with key stakeholders to respond to trends, criminal activity and organised criminal attacks, where necessary
• Report to Client & Consumer Protection Leadership team when required on relevant risk strategies.
• Responsible for performing on-site reviews (GARS) and managing the remediation effort for internal and outsourced review engagements (primarily but not limited to geographic responsibility)
• Actively manage the successful remediation of clients identified on the 'Close Monitoring' and 'Watch List' activities as managed by PFD( primarily but not limited to geographic responsibility)
• Own and manage clients breaching Franchise risk compliance programmes, ensuring a migration path that reduces the likelihood of further breach (primarily but not limited to geographic responsibility)
• Effectively manage the case prioritisation and allocation process in line with the current Enforcement Strategy. Liaise with GCAS Customer Care Services about the effective use of the EU Law Enforcement Assistance (LEA) Service
• In collaboration with Management Team colleagues, prepare and deliver regular updates regarding market/regulatory/operational developments to the team and organisation. Embed new knowledge to facilitate continuous improvement and optimise ways of working.
• Identifies risk issues in merchant Sectors, work with individual merchants, trade organisations etc. within geographic area of responsibility and relevant internal stakeholders on solutions to improve risk management.
• Support merchants/merchant sectors in increasing their management of risk
• Manage the merchant risk executive council ensure merchants are kept up to date with Visa risk strategies and where appropriate to engage other sectors
• Sit on advisory boards and working groups such as Europol's Advisory Group on Financial Services
The role will be required to support the following:

• Cybersecurity and resilience metrics as set by Visa Europe
• Liaison with Global Centres of Excellence
