Credit Risk Analyst

Job Description CCL Global are currently recruiting for a Credit Risk Analyst to be based in London. The succesful applicant will support the business and the Credit function in optimizing performance by providing concise but well-argued credit opinions and ratings on the customer base individually and the portfolio as a whole, using a range of information sourced both from internal and external sources including customer engagement, with the aim of informing the business such that appropriate decisions can be taken within the prescribed risk management framework. Location: London Type of Contract: Permanent Key duties will include: ● Maintaining a schedule of timely reviews in accordance with the underlying risks of the customers and the portfolio. ● Ensure matters of concern are investigated and raised appropriately to allow for action to be taken with the Commercial team as required. ● Ensure improvements in a customer profile are communicated to maximize the commercial opportunity. ● Strong relationships with customers and Account Managers that are maintained through top to bottom of cycle. ● Accountable for Risk assessments in a portfolio of c400-450 live customers spanning businesses in Asia, Europe, and the US. ● Ability to adapt communication styles to reflect the various cultural and operational differences within the respective businesses. ● Ability to adapt output and style in an evolving business post a major acquisition, reorganization, and consolidation. ● Champions the company\'s 20 Safety Principles, and the culture of safety. ● Accountable for the assessment of new customers and the continuing review of the existing customer base - providing a reliable, well-constructed credit opinion and/or rating, which can easily be utilized in onward submissions to the Credit Manager / Board Members for approvals. ● Shaping the development of assessment processes to fit the balance between appropriate diligence, our risk appetite and cost environment. ● Regular reporting on the credit metrics and dynamics of the portfolio, highlighting concentrations and / or (potential) movements within said portfolios. ● Ensure that good relationships are maintained with other members of the Credit and Control teams - especially those engaged in Collection activity so that any payment issues can be presented appropriately in your opinions. ● Maintain good dialogue with the respective sales and business teams to ensure that non-financial aspects of your opinions have solid grounding in their business environment. ● Where necessary engage certain customers (with or through the Commercial team) to ensure that appropriate considerations are made of items which may not be disclosed in financial statements. ● Represent the business on selected Control function initiatives and teams. ● Maintain core data points in systems to ensure appropriate controls are in place and that information meets the needs for internal and external reporting. ● Provide coaching in Credit Analysis to members of the Control team to ensure capabilities are maintained and process improvements are continually achieved. ● Work with other functions to provide information, share knowledge and understanding of data as and when required. ● Network within the company\'s credit community to manage customers / suppliers to multiple businesses. ● Periodically perform other financial duties, projects and activities as required by the CFO and reporting line, including deputizing for the Credit Manager Requirements: ● Strong financial and analytical acumen developed through five or more years of equivalent experience in a financial institution or corporate / trading environment. ● Expert understanding of the dynamics of credit analysis, and the processes involved in assigning a credit rating. ● Pro-active and have strong interpersonal and communication skills to resolve issues and present information effectively and persuasively. ● Highly independent and results-orientated in order to encourage a culture of high data quality through accuracy, attention to detail, consistency and understanding. ● Well organized and flexible when dealing with regional issues against tight deadlines and differing time zones. ● Good organizational skills with flexibility to meet deadlines. ● Degree or equivalent qualification desirable. ● Additional language skills (Western European) desirable Benefits include: Discretionary Bonus Pension Plan
