Credit Risk Senior Collections Analyst

As a Barclays Collections Analyst you will support the core goals and objectives of the Barclays Financial Assistance Risk Team, with a particular focus on Mortgages. You will have responsibility for carrying out detailed levels of analytics to support the development, optimisation and subsequent performance monitoring of the Collection and Recoveries Credit Risk minimum strategy requirements and frameworks. You will be the 2nd Line of Defence Risk oversight and governance of Collection Operations.

What will you be doing?
• Supporting the team to ensure appropriate MI is in place to allow for effective monitoring of portfolio performance and early identification of areas outside of appetite
• Engaging with Operations to ensure operational MI is sufficiently comprehensive to allow second line review and challenge
• Using MI, providing structured check and challenge of current performance trends with clear feedback loop into strategy optimisation
• Investigating (analytically) unexpected changes in performance, escalating/ disseminating findings through appropriate channels
• Helping identification of and escalating emerging risk issues to Head of Secured/ Unsecured Risk/ relevant forum/ committee
• Engaging with a variety of Stakeholders outside of the BFA Risk team, including Operations, Legal and Compliance, as well as the Product Business teams

What we're looking for:
• SAS/SQL experience is essential
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, with ability to articulate complex issues at an intuitive level to a non- risk audience
• Ability to think creatively, to challenge the norm and drive through solutions in the face of adversity and challenge
• Working knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint

Skills that will help you in the role:
• Good understanding and experience of working in a Retail Credit Risk environment, preferably with Business Banking knowledge
• Awareness of Regulatory landscape and requirements governing Risk, specifically BFA
• Python experience would be an advantage
