Fire Risk Assessor required for a fantastic contract based in Sunderland

Council Based Role

The Role

To contribute to the delivery of an effective Health, Safety and Fire risk assessment/advisory service by providing specialist advice on fire safety, organisational review and policy, leading or working on specific projects/cases, to both internal and external organisations and partners
Support the Health and Safety Manager with the implementation and continuous improvement of the council's fire risk management system.
Carry out detailed fire risk assessments in accordance with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and preparing associated reports within an accepted standard and in a timely manner.
Highlight to relevant personnel any remedial actions that are required after undertaking the Fire Risk Assessments.
Support the Health and Safety Manager to ensure there are adequate arrangements for emergency planning and preparedness, including fire evacuation and stay put procedures and that those procedures are adequately tested

The Requirements

Recognisable and professional qualification in fire safety management and fire risk assessment from creditable providers such as the Fire Protection Association, Fire Industry Association or NEBOSH Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management or equivalent.
Proven and previous experience in the completion of Fire Risk Assessments and reports.
In depth post qualification experience providing services to large organisations in either the commercial sector or social housing sector.
An understanding of active and passive fire protection systems
Current up to date knowledge of fire safety legislation, technical standards, trends and best practice e.g. Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, Approved Document B, PAS 79-1:2020, PAS 79-2:2020, etc.
An understanding of active and passive fire protection systems.
In depth post qualification experience providing services to large organisations in either the commercial sector or social housing sector.
Puts the customer first and provides excellent service to both internal and external customers
Uses appropriate methods to express information in a clear and concise way to make sure people understand
