Fire Risk Surveyor

West Midlands | 35 Hours per Week | £31,000 - £33,000

We are looking for a full time 35 hours per week experienced Fire Risk Surveyor to join our organisation, who share our values. Pay rate of £31,000 - £33,000 per annum.

The successful candidate is to have experience as a Fire Risk Surveyor, to minimise risk to Accord and meet statutory compliance obligations services. Liaise with appropriate key stakeholders such as repairs teams, scheme managers, assets teams, and housing officers, to ensure compliance with fire safety legislation and Accords fire safety strategy and policies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY:

Complete and validate fire risk assessments and FRA reviews in line with legislation and regulatory timescales and organisational KPIs

- Evaluate outcomes and design schemes of remedial and upgrade works packages to ensure compliance

- Audit and risk review in house and contractors performance in relation to fire related works including pre- and post-inspections.

- Where necessary act as or on behalf of the Contract Administrator using technical

expertise to ensure effective performance by Accord, building services, regeneration teams and maintenance contractors.

- Manage contractors and consultants to ensure fire safety standards are fully met.

- Provide professional technical support and expertise to investment and repairs

teams as well as other housing staff in all matters relating to fire safety.

- Contribute to the monitoring of existing and the development of new processes, systems and procedures to facilitate the management control of fire risks.

- Evaluation of alternative fire related designs and specifications across new developments and existing portfolio, leading on design standardisation.

- Lead and deliver expert training to housing staff, operatives and wider teams on fire safety and the FRA process.

- Lead on and devise Article 11 documentation to all residential blocks, including

regular reviews.

- Liaise with external professional bodies including councils, regulatory bodies and the Fire Service.

- Contribute to strategic fire safety policy and procedures and ensure Accords fire safety strategy is implemented and maintained.

- Provide cost analysis on inspections, remedial works and projects and provide expenditure forecasts whilst assessing financial risks that Accord may be exposed to.

JOB DESCRIPTION

FIRE RISK SURVEYOR
Accountable to: Mechanical and Electrical Compliance Manager
Responsible for:

Hours:Full time (35 hours/week), may include evening working, some weekends and Bank Holidays to meet the needs of the service
Location:To work across all sites and locations across locality area. This may include schemes/ services or individuals own homes

Key job role
-Provide expert specialist fire safety support and advice across Accord properties.
-To ensure fire safety is inspected, managed and maintained in accordance with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and any other appropriate Health and Safety legislation.
-Take responsibility for identifying all fire related risks and issues across the portfolio and design, arrange and oversee the necessary remedial actions and work packages to meet contractual and compliance KPIs
-Undertake contract evaluations, both pre and post contract, and prepare evaluation reports.
-Liaise with appropriate key stakeholders such as repairs teams, scheme managers, assets teams, and housing officers, to ensure compliance with fire safety legislation and Accords fire safety strategy and policies.
-Manage and undertake FRA validations, including risk management of assets.
-Using own specialist and expert knowledge, be responsible for identifying the
technical solutions for fire safety works, scoring mechanisms, risk assessments
-Support investment teams in the planning and delivery of major schemes and minor works via repair teams or contractors.
-Provide expert technical support and training to other housing staff and provide
-support with other key management issues relating to fire safety.
-Contribute to and drive continuous development and compliance of the organisations fire safety strategy and policies.
-Work with customers and customer groups and external agencies to promote good fire safety practice.

Carry out regular building surveys to support the core surveying function when required
