Flood Risk Engineer

Our client is a provider of turnkey solutions for the wastewater industry that has been formed by the merger of a Dutch company and an English company. Both companies had a long-established relationship having worked together for over 15 years, providing consultancy, design & build, maintenance and operational services for industrial and municipal wastewater, commercial and residential sewage treatment, floodwater and infrastructure projects. They have over 400 reference sites in the UK across the Food and Beverage, Municipal Water, Holiday and Leisure and development and infrastructure markets.

There is an immediate requirement for a Flood Risk Engineer (Civil / Environmental) with a minimum of 4 years\' experience to be based at the Head Office in Truro.

Duties and responsibilities of this role include:

If the client instructs make sure the letter of instruction is completed and send this to accounts to be made into a job before starting work
Liaise with the EA for their flood information
Liaise with clients and architects from information such as drawings
Produce Flood Risk Assessment letters or reports based on EA flood information
Specify topographic survey extents and specification for HEC-RAS modelling
Undertake HEC-RAS hydraulic modelling and then produce floodplain drawings and FRA reports from this
Calculations for SuDS and surface water drainage schemes using Microdrainage
Outline design drawings using CAD of surface water drainage schemes to comply with the SuDS guidance as well as Local Policy
Organise percolation testing by contacting plant hire companies and raising relevant PO\'s
Undertake services searches for site before undertaking percolation testing
Attend site to undertake percolation testing including the use of CAT scanner
Undertake site visits for a variety of flood risk reasons based on a client\'s request
Liaise with the EA and LLFA regarding sites and solving problems to do with applicationsTo be considered a viable and relevant candidate for this role you will need the following:

Degree qualified Civil or Environmental Engineer
Working towards Chartership with CIWEM
Minimum of 4 years comparable relevant work experience
Client focussed with excellent communication skills and a proven track record
Able to produce Flood Risk Assessments from one property developments/change of use to small residential developments
Support on sampling studies, plant performance evaluations and optimisation studies
HEC-RAS modelling experience preferred (can be trained if necessary)
Micro-drainage experience preferred (can be trained if necessary)
Civil/ environmental engineering design experience in the wastewater / drainage sector
CAD experience preferred (can be trained if necessary)
Excellent communication, organisation, prioritisation and time management skills
Good IT skills and proficiency with civil design softwareA competitive salary package will be offered to the right candidate for this role.
