About the role

We are seeking an experience leader in Credit and Collections, to enable evolution and transformation our management of the debt lifecycle at Thames Water. You will be accountable for the creation, delivery and governance of end to end holistic collections and recoveries strategy and create and lead a robust credit risk function with strong analytical capability to prioritise opportunities that add value to our customers stakeholders.

Key areas of accountability will include:

Agree and deliver priorities that support debt lifecycle performance and ensure fair customer outcomes.
Lever internal and external networks to have insight of industry and domain-wide best practices.
Responsible for development and implementation of our Credit Strategy including compliance monitoring and performance tracking of strategy effectiveness.
Defining, monitoring and managing company Credit & Collections Policy and standards to mitigate and reduce exposure to credit risk and ensuring regulatory compliance
Ensuring credit risk tools are identified, implemented and actively managed to reduce exposure to risk.
Leading the strategic and commercial relationships with key third parties relating to the purchase and utilisation of data and data enrichment tools e.g. Equifax, GB Group, Sagacity etc.

Manage debt lifecycle reporting and analysis to understand, monitor and improve performance against policy, standards or strategy.
Responsible along with the Head of Operations for adherence to the Credit and Collections policy, standards and strategies across Credit and Collections through controls, reporting, data and analytics, as appropriate
Be accountable to provide expert input and guidance for campaigns, new initiatives and systems changes / implementation from a credit risk perspective
Responsible for regular reporting / analytics with regard to Thames Water's credit risk customer profile / distribution including customer segmentation / scorecard effectiveness leveraging Thames BI and this in turn delvers understanding and value to Thames Water.
To be successful in this role you will have the following skills and experience:

In-depth knowledge of credit risk management and technologies
Success in a senior change management role within a complex organisation environment
Embedding sustainable customer-focused change initiatives
Creating risk frameworks, culture and mechanisms
Proven SQL/SAS experience
Results orientated with focus on customer outcomes, mitigation of credit losses and benefit realisation
Influential communicator with ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders across technical, operational and project teams
Experience of managing contacts and 3rd parties to ensure delivery of commercial and customer outcomes
Experience of budget, forecasting management, P&L management and accountability
