The Risk Management team is critical to Lloyd\'s achieving its long term aims by ensuring risks to the strategy are effectively identified, assessed and managed within risk appetites set by the Franchise Board.

The Role
To lead the design and operation of the enterprise risk management framework to ensure risks to Lloyd\'s are effectively identified, assessed and managed.

What Will You Do?
Risk strategy and appetite

  • To define and implement a comprehensive Risk Strategy for Lloyd\'s. To define and deliver the annual Risk Plan, working closely with the CRO and Head of Risk to define the priorities for the Risk Management function, including thematic risk reviews on the key risk issues facing Lloyd\'s.
  • To develop and maintain a clear risk appetite framework for Lloyd\'s. To ensure risk appetites are considered and embedded in decision making. To regularly report to senior management on the risk profile against appetite, advising on risk mitigation strategies where required.
  • To ensure there is an effective risk culture across Lloyd\'s .
Risk framework, processes and systems
  • To develop and maintain the risk identification and assessment process, ensuring the Risk Management function and management have a clear and continous view of the risk exposure of the organisation.
  • To work closely with business functions to monitor risk exposures and advise on risk mitigation strategies where required.
  • To identify and assess emerging risks and advising management on risk mitigation strategies where required.
  • To develop and maintain comprehensive management reporting, including use of risk management systems and data visualisation tools. To lead analytical assessments of key risk areas.
  • To use exceptional impact and influencing skills to ensure Lloyd\'s operates within risk appetites and tolerances.
  • To identify key areas of risk for thematic review and lead technical risk assurance projects, drawing on external consulting partners where required.
Reporting and Governance
  • To lead the Own Risk and Solvency Assessment (ORSA) process for Lloyd\'s, producing annual and quarterly ORSA reports for Board approval.
  • To produce all regular and ad hoc reporting from the Risk Management function, including to regulators, ratings agencies and other key stakeholders.
  • To facilitate and ensure effective risk governance, including the operation of various risk committees as required.
  • To regularly present key findings of the enterprise risk management framework to senior management, up to and including the Board and Council.

What You\'ll Need
  • Experience in leading high performing teams to successful risk management outcomes
  • Experience in dealing with complex regulatory communication and negotiation
  • Experience in managing senior stakeholders including challenging or unsupportive stakeholders
  • Experience in managing challenging people management issues
  • Demonstrable track record of risk management frameworks, tools and processes
  • Strong experience of capital models including their use, governance, validation and improvement
  • Expert knowledge of risk management and Solvency II requirements
  • Detailed understanding of capital modelling / management
  • Good understanding of the insurance industry and the Lloyd\'s market
  • Detailed understanding of and application of utilising leadership and management skills
