Head of Risk & Compliance

My Client is a highly respected Housing Association who has an exciting opportunity for a Head of Risk and Compliance.

Role can be based in Nottingham, Cambridge and a number of London including : Farringdon, Southgate, Twickenham, Clapham, Chalkhill and Roundshaw.

The Head of Risk & Compliance will lead operational risk management and reduction, compliance and policy work for the Customer Services Directorate. They will be accountable for all regulatory compliance and statutory assurance/monitoring activity for which the directorate is responsible and will own all risk frameworks at a directorate level.

Key Responsibilities and Outcomes
* Own any audit action plans and recommendations relating to Customer Services.
* Be the accountable person for all external reviews and investigations, such as serious case reviews and domestic homicide reviews.
* Be the accountable person for all safeguarding concerns raised regarding colleagues.
* Lead, along with the Risk Manager, the development of new approaches to risk identification and management across the directorate, and ongoing use of risk registers and frameworks.
* Oversee the development of directorate-level approaches to service resilience, business continuity and emergency preparedness.
* Work with the Policy & Training Manager to embed policies and key working practices across the directorate, including through a programme of modern, forward-thinking training.
* Support the Quality Assurance Manager in the development of a QA Framework and directorate-wide approach to quality assuring services.
* Partner with relevant operational colleagues to develop a holistic understanding of themes coming from contract monitoring, CQC monitoring and internal QA activity.
* Be accountable for activity in relation to equity loans, and all other areas subject to Financial Conduct Authority regulation.
* Support operational teams to achieve and maintain compliance with anti-money laundering and financial advice regulation.
* Working with the Head of Strategy & Support, develop a framework approach to safeguarding reporting across central and local activity, providing assurance, insight and analysis which support the development of our frontline services.
* Attend Safeguarding & Quality Panel, producing and presenting regular and one-off reports as required.
* Provide effective leadership and management to direct reports and their teams, complying with organisational policy and facilitating coaching and personal development at all levels.
* Produce an annual report for board, detailing all compliance activity, along with themed analysis and forward-looking discussion of priorities, drawing on external analysis and internal themes

The role will require a Basic DBS check.
