The Opportunity:

The Financial Services Assurance practice in the UK has over 1700 professionals delivering external audit and other assurance services to clients within the financial service industry. Our professionals offer a wide range of services across Audit, Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS), Extended Assurance (EA) and Fraud Investigation & Dispute Services (FIDS). The UK practice is part of EMEIA FSO which operates across 19 countries and encompasses more than 14,000 staff across all services lines.

The Risk Management team is responsible for ensuring the firm's compliance with the rules and regulations imposed either by external professional regulatory bodies, by the business or by the UK firm in relation to the conduct of the firm's assurance business in the financial services industry.

The team sits within the wider QRM network across UK and EMEIA FSO and provides support to engagement teams on matters of policy, risk management, quality and compliance as well as related processes. The Senior Associate will support the Risk Management team and the wider practice by managing multiple projects and day to date activities.

Your Key Responsibilities:

Project management of overdue and late Archive Record Centre forms
Identify suitable Engagement Quality Control Reviewer (EQCR) candidates, including checking for previous involvement with the client and liaising with client teams
Liaise with audit teams to ensure the rotation database is kept up to date including updates for new and lost clients
Preparation of reports for the Audit Risk Sub-committee
Analyse and prepare client lists for ICAEW reporting and the firm's Transparency Report
Preparation of management information for Assurance leadership
Support in onboarding new clients
Monitoring of independence mark ups in the firm's Global Independence System
Audit Quality Review (AQR) coordination and support
Follow up and respond to queries from Associate Partners on their approval requests to act as audit partner in charge and prepare the requests to be submitted to EMEIA FSO PPD
Maintenance of our Risk Management SharePoint website
Prepare, analyse and review reports from different sources (FCA, financial crime, risk) for our monthly Risk Monitoring Program
Maintenance of our list of clients listed in Overseas exchanges
Contribute to the overall risk management team agenda by supporting with internal and global projects as required

To qualify for the role you must have:

Excellent communication skills with the confidence to articulate effectively to individuals of all grades and levels
Ability to demonstrable attention to detail
Microsoft Excel skills are required, knowledge of pivot tables and Vlookup function is preferable
Strong organisational skills, including the ability to plan ahead and manage your time as well as reprioritising when needed
A team player mindset, comfortable working collaboratively, virtually and independently
Ability to lead by example, demonstrating a high standard of quality and effective risk management behaviors'
Enthusiasm about innovation and automation of business as usual activities

Ideally, you'll also have:

A background in risk management or compliance
Experience of financial services
