We have an exciting opportunity for an Insurance Risk & Compliance Officer to join our team working from home. You will join us on a full-time, permanent basis, and in return for your hard work, we will offer you a competitive salary of £28,188 per annum, Band E, Level 3).

There is a wide range of learning needs to be met and we want to enable our volunteers to manage their own learning journey and access their training in a modern and flexible way that enables them to fit it into their lives alongside their volunteering and other commitments.

The Insurance Risk & Compliance Officer Role:

The main purpose of the role is to support the Risk & Compliance Manager with all matters relating to risk and compliance to ensure the firm is meeting the principles and rules set by the regulator. This includes monitoring the systems and controls in place, maintaining use of these systems and controls and implementing new ones where appropriate.

What will you be doing in the Insurance Risk & Compliance Officer role?

- Assisting in the preparation of Management Information (MI) reports

- Investigating customer complaints and drafting appropriate responses

- Keeping up to date with regulatory developments

- Assisting the Risk & Compliance Manager in implementing various policies and procedures to ensure that business activities are conducted in accordance with applicable laws, regulations and industry standards

- Advising senior management in a timely manner about FCA related issues and other regulatory issues and any changes to FCA regulations

- Maintenance and review of internal registers including the Conflicts of Interest, Complaints, Gifts & Hospitalities, Amendments and Breaches

- Administration of the risk and compliance training programme, including the assigned mandatory online training and the subsequent tracking of completion

- Supporting the firm's senior leadership team with ad hoc tasks as required

- Conducting compliance monitoring reviews, ensuring the firm's activities comply at all time with its procedures and FCA requirements

- Arranging team meetings and taking minutes as necessary

- Assisting in preparing for external audits

- Monitoring financial promotions

What we are looking for in our Insurance Risk & Compliance Officer:

- A university degree is preferred, with A-Level or equivalent standard being a minimum

- An understanding of the insurance industry, the regulatory environment within which the firm operates and the regulatory requirements it must meet

- Knowledge of the FCA handbook, consultation papers and publications

- Understanding of the Data Protection Act and GDPR

- Commercial awareness

- Ability to communicate with a range of stakeholders internal and external using a range of forms, whilst influencing and motivating where necessary

- Critical problem-solving ability. Able to make decisions on the information available, which is not always black and white

- Strong attention to detail and focus on delivery

- Demonstrable ability to work under own initiative, to tight deadlines and deliver to a high standard
