The Non-Clinical Risk Department have additional lofty ambitions. We are looking to elevate the Trust to the highest levels, and one of our aims is to implement a best-in class safety management system and achieve ISO 45001 certification. We would be the first UK -wide NHS trust to achieve this

The Non-Clinical Risk Advisor post-holder will:

Play a vital role in supporting the Safety Manager & the Non-Clinical Risk Manager in ensuring that Health & Safety effectively contributes to the corporate objectives and strategic direction of the Trust, working within the framework of excellent corporate governance.
Provide advice and assist with the development Health & Safety systems across the organisation.
Work across the organisation with a high degree of autonomy to act, interpret, and apply legislation / policy / procedures.
Assist in managing the Trust's statutory and best practice provision which includes; co-ordinating, developing, planning, communicating, training and monitoring in all relevant aspects of health & safety.
Assist with work in the development and implementation of a medium and long term, standardised & consistent approach to non-clinical risk and safety planning and operations, and will assist with the co-ordination, development and implementation of safety related policies, protocols, procedures and guidelines.

Qualities, Qualifications and Experience

We are looking for in the post-holder are:

Expert / specialist knowledge and experience in Health & Safety, preferably previous NHS experience.
Qualified to a high level within the health & safety arena, preferably with NEBOSH, IOSH, CIEH and / or British Safety Council qualifications, Level 3 and above.
Be of an engaging, positive, motivated disposition and character, and a positive, proactive team player.
