Our client based in Bracknell is looking for a Risk Associate to join their team. The successful candidate will provide support to the Operational Risk Manager, in the maintenance and ongoing development of the Operational Risk Frameworks and the Risk culture. The Risk Associate will be a part of the second line risk team ensuring appropriate support, challenge and guidance to the business in a timely and pragmatic manner.
Daily Duties
Assist with the updating of the Company's overarching Risk Management Framework and other linked Frameworks, Policies and Process documents Support the administration of the Company's Risk Appetite Framework and monitoring & challenging of supporting Risk Appetite Metrics Support reviews of the Company's Risk Registers and periodic Business Risk Self-Assessments (BRSAs) and that adequate challenge of the content of these takes place Administer the Company's incident management process, maintaining incident logs Track all open actions arising from Operational Risk Activities Administer the Data Protection breach log, providing MI where required Produce Risk MI for relevant Committees in line with the Terms of Reference ensuring the content and format of reporting remains fit for purpose Support the Operational Risk Manager with the maintenance of the company's business continuity Policies, Processes and Plans are maintained and challenged for appropriateness Support any activities required to manage business continuity events Support the business with proactive and reactive advice relating to operational risk issues Keep abreast of latest operational risk management techniques and industry best practices Assist with development of training material as required to staff on operational risk matters
Skills & knowledge
Previous experience of working in similar risk roles, ideally in the financial services industry Ability to analyse and interpret complex issues and provide advice and constructive challenge Ability to understand and convey information clearly and help others understand risk issues in a logical and common sense way Able to manage multiple tasks concurrently, prioritise appropriately and manage stakeholders Able to work well as part of a team A strong communicator, possessing an ability to build networks of contacts across the organisation Be open-minded and willing to adapt their style to suit the needs of the organisation Possession of an understanding of the key concepts of risk management and the potential regulatory impact across the business PC literate, able to prepare effective presentations and reports
