Our public sector client are looking to recruit a Policy and Risk Management Secretariat on a temporary basis for 3 months with possibility of extension. This is full time post for 37 hours a week. It is a role with a salary of £26,155 per annum. Currently the post will be based from home, when things return back to normal and the office opens it will be based in their Head Office in Aberdeen.
Overview
The post holder will report directly to the Food and Feed Safety and Hygiene Branch. The division has responsibility for a wide range of food safety and standards policys, including the provision of independent advice to Scottish Ministers, businesses, enforcement authorities and consumers. The post holder will provide direct secretariat support to the newly established Policy and Risk Management Forum (PRMF) which will consider all issues going through risk analysis from both a UK and Scottish specific perspective. The post holder will need to work alongside risk managers, risk assessors and risk communicators to facilitate discussion and agreement by the PRMF on Scottish priorities, and for Scottish specific issues that are not subject to UK governance arrangements. You will also gain awareness of the clients regulatory policy and scientific functions as well as wider UK and international standards and approaches that will become increasingly important in the future.
Main Duties This role will involve collaboration and engagement, mainly within the company but with a range of Scottish and UK government departments. Provide secretariat support to the Policy and Risk Management Forum (PRMF) Organise meetings, prepare agendas and action logs, minute taking etc Assist risk analysis colleagues in preparing papers for the PMRF and clients Board Liaising closely with the clients leads, develop high level reporting to the PRMF Provide support on behalf of the client for the UK Risk Analysis IT packages including the Risk Analysis Tracker, Evidence Package Tracker and Regulated Products Tracker Acting as the clients single point of contact for managing their access issues Act as a central point of contact for adding the clients issues to the UK tracker. Support the development and maintenance of a tracker for all Scottish issues subject to the clients risk analysis processes, that are not subject to the UK process, including tracking prioritisation and triage decisions. Maintain a watching brief for issues [being entered onto UK systems], alert the appropriate leads as required. Maintain a record of notable issues Essential Criteria Strong planning and organisational skills, including the ability to balance competing demands. Ability to engage confidently with a range of people, including proven ability to build effective working relationships. Proven ability to develop and apply new skills and knowledge to meet business needs.
