Your team

Your team, the Business Standards team at Stonebridge provides support to the network's advisor firms, assisting them with meeting their training and competency requirements and ensuring appropriate standards and case quality is being maintained. The role of Quality & Risk Assessor deals directly with the UK-wide network of professional mortgage and insurance Advisors, in relation to residential and buy to let mortgage case files and their compliance with; operating procedures, the Stonebridge Performance Management System and the FCA regulatory requirements.

The role

This is very much a compliance support role that focuses on checking complex mortgage and protection case files for advisors and ensuring acceptable case quality is being reached. In addition, managing the compliance team databases to ensure accurate and up to date records are maintained and reporting on those where required. A further key task is providing reminders and support to advisor firms completing their annual training and competency requirements on time and being a point of contact for advisors to assist with general compliance queries and guidance.

What will you be doing?

· Checking of live cases - large, detailed, complex mortgage and insurance case files.

· Spotting any risks / shortfalls in compliance, or potential/actual fraudulent activity, and raising the issue firstly with the Advisors and where applicable, the Senior Auditor.

· Fielding calls from the Advisors, in relation to live cases and facilitating the discussion around the points picked up by Assessor.

· Drafting high quality, written communication to confirm actions agreed / taken.

· Record keeping and completing reports and management information.

· Maintaining compliance logs and spreadsheets, ensuring advisors receive reminders for training and competency requirements.

· Managing and assigning advisor workloads to other compliance team members for completion.

· Helping advisors with compliance-related queries and via telephone and email and referring to the relevant team member where required.

· Running internal reports and collating MI for the Business Standards Manager.

About You

· Experience working for long periods of time with highly detailed, large case files.

· Experience of managing the more complex case files.

· Collation and analysis of MI data.

· Managing logs and databases and accurate data entry.

· Probing, investigative, analytical.

· Keen eye for detail.

· Ability to communicate effectively, both written and oral.

· The ability to manage your own workload, prioritising tasks and using time productively.

· A willingness to learn and develop skills and knowledge.

· Knowledge of MS office package

· Financial services experience an advantage.

· Eligibility to work in the UK and everything it takes to successfully complete pre-employment screening.
