Regulatory Risk Manager

What's it all about?

Visa identifies and measures risk and develops strategies to manage and monitor the risk and aid achievement of business objectives. The Regulatory Risk team protects Visa by effectively managing supervisory relationships to, deliver Supervisory Priorities, ensure appropriate risk governance oversight, and identify changes in regulatory environment to address as appropriate. The Regulatory Risk team supports Visa's growth by ensuring strategic initiatives consider regulatory requirements.

As the Regulatory Risk Manager you will be responsible for maintaining the relationship with our Supervisors at the Bank of England (BoE) and the Dutch National Bank (DNB) while also supporting the Government Engagement and Regulatory Legal and Compliance teams in their interactions with other European regulators.

This role will also engage with senior stakeholders internally to coordinate responses to regulatory requests and supervisory priorities and support documentation and review of materials going to key governance committees including the European Risk Committee and the Board Risk Committee.

What we expect of you, day to day:

· Manage the relationship with various supervisory teams, with specific focus on developing the relationship with the DNB.

· Liaise with key senior stakeholders to identify actions and accountability to deliver against supervisory priorities not encapsulated within the remit of the Finance Risk Working Group and Operational Resilience Steering Committee.

· Support the Risk Governance Senior Manager in management of the project plan to deliver the expectations outlined in the BoE Annual Risk Review (ARR) letter.

· Coordinate the schedule of supervisory meetings with the BoE working closely with members of the team and Board secretariat to ensure review cadence in place for all briefing materials compiled to support the executives, NEDs and INEDs in their discussions with the BoE.

· Responsible for the design, development and the implementation of processes to drive Visa's prudential regulatory deliverables as needed to support maintenance of the DNB license including:

o System uptime reporting

o Crisis management communications

o DNB ad-hoc requests for information;

· Embed governance for DNB reporting into current committee cadence and Individual Accountability Models

· Build out the supervisory engagement model for the DNB ensuring appropriate level of regular interaction is maintained with the supervisory team

· Monitor Incident Reporting to provide updates to the BoE, ECB and National Bank of Poland as mandated by the regulators

· Review incident reporting requirements for DNB and update process to manage these requirements

· Responsible for maintenance and update of the Incident Reporting process and delivery of an automated solution to manage monitoring where possible

· Working closely with Government Engagement and Legal, Regulatory and Compliance teams identify triggers requiring local European country level licensing and highlight regulatory risk associated with such requirements via appropriate governance forums

· Support senior stakeholders to identify the options for achieving business strategy within accepted risk framework and appetites.

· Support Horizon Scanning of the regulator landscape to develop and maintain knowledge of current and prospective regulatory framework affecting Visa in Europe

· Apply subject matter expertise to advise senior management of emerging regulatory risks, challenging where necessary and propose mitigation strategies, including NBIA

· Ensure timely and appropriate responses are provided to all external regulatory requests

· Contribute to defining the strategy, oversight and delivery of business education on regulatory policy requirements

· Support engagement on relevant internal audits and regulatory requests, ensuring satisfactory resolution of any audit findings and recommendations.

· Building strong relationships to cross silos:

o Work closely across Risk Europe

o Work closely with relevant Global Centres of Excellence

o Work closely with other VEL Functions

· Working collaboratively with the Businesses and other functions to deliver key Business projects and initiatives

· Working collaboratively with other departments in Risk Europe and Global Risk to:

o Deliver the Risk Europe strategy

o Support delivery of the Global Risk strategy

o Optimise efficiencies

o Deliver appropriate consistency in risk management

o Deliver key projects and initiatives

· Using management information, metrics and analysis to inform business decision-making and to measure progress against goals and desirable outcomes

· Identifying key risk topics for escalation to the RELT

· Supporting, training and sharing expertise with other colleagues in VEL and globally
