One of the country's most recognisable brands currently has a fascinating opportunity for a Risk and Insurance Manager to join the Internal, Risk & Assurance team. You will play a key part in delivering the business's insurance strategy and programme of risk management.

The role will manage the day to day insurance activities across the group, arranging cover for property assets, commercial activities and enhancement activities - supported by Finance and under the stewardship of the Group Head of Internal Audit & Risk. The role will involve managing the delivery and continued deployment of the enterprise-wide risk management framework whilst ensuring that the Group complies with statutory, regulatory and contractual obligations.

Along with the Head of IA, you will assist in bringing together the information required to renew and administer global insurance programmes and act as a business partner across the organisation to delivery a transparent and consistent internal controls framework.

You will providing strategic support as well as key risk management advice and support to group. Your presence will be felt across the business, so a personable and confident demeanour is a must, and the company are looking for someone willing to challenge the norms and put their own stamp on the role.

You must have a strong level of knowledge and experience working in an operational risk environment, and show a track record of advising on controls and implementing procedures. You must be someone able to work in a fast paced environment, and someone who is willing to think outside the box. Collaboration is key, but so is the confidence and common sense to work alone.

Experience of working with procurement to renew and acquire new insurance policies across a broad range of risk areas and an experience in dealing with insurers and brokers is essential. Strong understanding of insurance principles and practices is clearly essential and you should be someone who can demonstrate a strong commitment to risk management. Data analysis, manipulation and presentation will be key to the role in the wider business and you will be asked to highlight examples of this at interview.
