Risk & Assurance Lead - Programme

This is an interim engagement with a large multi-national client.

Following a review of the Change Delivery Framework, a gap has been identified in the programme first-line risk identification, assessment and reporting of risks to senior management in keeping with regulatory standards.

This role will focus on the risk identification, evaluation and setting of controls within the existing Change portfolio, and also manage risks within new contracts, through transition delivery and into service.

The role requires a risk management specialist with an understanding of programme/projects first-line risk management techniques in the solutioning - bid stage, transition delivery and service arena.

The role will manage all training of Project Managers, Portfolio Managers and Service Managers to embed and improve our identification, measurement, control, reporting and escalation of risks across the Portfolios to governance committees. The role will also have a key relationship with the second and third lines of defence supporting their independent oversight and programme assurance activities.

Key Skills:

  • Demonstrable experience of working within a multi-divisional, multi-sector, pre-sales and project delivery risk environment
  • Enthusiastic, self-managing and collaborative, with an ability to influence and guide
  • Ability to maintain the balance between risk avoidance and commercial realities
  • Ability to develop and maintain long term relationships with senior stakeholders both internal and external, collaborating with those responsible in our organisation for developing products and services that will help our customers to transform and grow
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, especially communication and presentation, being able to communicate fluently in English both verbally and in writing
  • Demonstrates proficiency with customer's problems, requirements, political constraints and authority levels
  • Able to use a process framework, analytical tools and reporting to direct, monitor and evaluate progress and change
  • Proficient at understanding the principles of conflict and negotiation management
  • Demonstrated experience of the Atos bid and project governance processes
  • Understands and has demonstrated the use of methods and techniques for the assessment and management of risk
