Risk and Compliance Manager

Description:

Our client is a high growth, private equity backed leading provider of origination and servicing software solutions for banks, building societies and specialist lenders throughout the UK and Europe.

Reporting to the Group CFO, the Risk and Compliance Manager will drive and embed best practices in Information Security, Compliance, Risk Management and data privacy across the expanding organisation.

Main duties of the Risk and Compliance Manager will include:

  • Develop, maintain, and refine risk management controls, policies and procedures.
  • Work with business owners to develop and maintain an effective controls environment.
  • Develop and embed the use of data as part of risk and compliance processes; reporting on compliance status and progress, via data, metrics and KPIs.
  • Proactively identify controls deficiencies or opportunities for improvement and facilitate development of pragmatic solutions.
  • Create and embed a culture of compliance, working with the exec and senior management team to raise risk awareness and compliance across the business.
  • Act as a trusted risk and compliance advisor for the group.

The successful candidate for the Risk and Compliance Manager will possess:

  • Good experience and knowledge of the following: ISO 27001 and Information Security principles, Data Privacy regulations and data management best practices, controls audits, risk management practices.
  • Previous experience in a B2B software / technology business, or a consultancy / auditor advising such a business
  • Effective organisation and project management skills, (business change experience desirable).
  • Experience using various reporting tools (e.g., BI dashboards); able to analyse and report data and metrics; able to present and communicate information / reports clearly (both written and visually)

This is a great opportunity for someone who likes to be 'hands on' and own this area of Risk & Compliance but still working at a senior level and a key stakeholder in what is a relatively small business. You could be someone stepping up to this role from a more junior position or indeed someone more experienced who wants to work in a smaller environment with a great amount of autonomy. Above all else the individual needs to be pro-active and used to finding solutions themselves and driving change.

Remote working with occasional travel to London.
