Risk Business Partner
We have a great opportunity to join our Risk Management team, which plays a key part in supporting the management of risk throughout the Land Registry. In this role you will take ownership of supporting assigned directorates, programmes and projects in making informed decisions and contribute to the effective management of Principal and Directorate risks.
Risk Business Partner Responsibilities:
In this role you will support the Head of Risk Management with developing and embedding the Enterprise Risk Management Framework within the First Line, helping ensure it is fit for purpose, simple to understand, and that it works with and for the business. You will utilise an in-depth knowledge of risk management approaches, methodology and frameworks to offer independent advice on the effectiveness of the controls identified by the First Line to mitigate their risks. You will provide enhanced assurance, as well as providing insights and challenges to for senior management and their leadership teams.
You will work directly with risk and control owners within Directorates to ensure they have the appropriate, knowledge, skills and commitment to implement and embed HMLR's Risk Management Framework into their day to day operations. They will present risk reports at the leadership team meetings of your assigned areas, facilitate risk identification workshops for them and upskill First Line staff on risk management processes.
Risk Business Partner Requirements:
* To be successful in this role you will have a strong knowledge and experience of risk management, which must include working in the Second Line.
* You can confidently engage with senior management and First Line leadership teams in providing advice and/or constructive challenge and have experience of advising senior stakeholders on methodology, processes and practices for managing and mitigating risks.
* You have a good understanding of the Three Lines of Defence model and how it can be applied practically to public sector risk and control frameworks.
* Through prior involvement in preparing and presenting reports to senior management and First Line leadership teams, you can present risk management information to audiences with varied levels of knowledge.
* You have the ability to recognise the risk associated with achieving objectives/outcomes and an understanding of the organisational impact.
* You have experience of using critical analysis to make robust informed decisions relating to business risk.

* Hold a qualification in Risk Management (e.g, IRM, MoR) or equivalent experience in a risk management role.
