Could you navigate a dynamically changing product and regulatory landscape? Our client, a global fuel and energy major is looking for a European Risk Management and Product Compliance Steward

As the Risk Management and Product Compliance Steward, you will be tasked with ensuring that product compliance risk management is performed and that a product compliance risk management strategy is defined to meet all requirements in countries where my client operates, sells and markets their products as well as ensuring conformance to product stewardship management standards.

The successful Risk Management and Product Compliance Steward will provide compliance assurance in accordance with a systematic risk-based approach through conducting product compliance assurance reviews and implementing other assurance mechanisms, and the management of product compliance incidents across all of the client's business units.

You will also be tasked with the following tasks:

* Management of product compliance incidents in accordance with the client's organisational Management System (OMS). Record, investigate, develop lessons learned and follow up on actions for correcting and preventing incidents. Ensure that trends are incorporated into the product stewardship (product compliance) risk management strategy for GPS and relevant businesses.?

* Management of product stewardship risks, identification and risk mitigation measures proposed.

* To have a clear set of product stewardship risks in order to implement a risk management plan and a continuous improvement plan for GPS and recommended to BP businesses in order to achieve a reduction in the risk rating of risks.?

* Ensure that the compliance to product regulations is fully aligned with the compliance risk management approach in the identification and implementation of barriers applicable to GPS activities in product regulatory compliance in the form of technology, information, policies, processes, and procedural and people barriers.?

* Further oversee and implement compliance programs related to compliance with product legislations for all products to enable a proactive approach towards product compliance risk management.?

* Provide input into to the development and implementation of the product compliance strategy for relevant businesses in the respective regions.?

* Coordinate and manage local product compliance operations and serve as local facilitator for product compliance, including hazard communication through relevant control groups or other mechanisms.?

* Develop and oversee the implementation of tools to ensure compliance as well as product compliance assurance mechanisms and conduct relevant product compliance assurance reviews to prevent the recurrence of incidents and the proactive management of product compliance risks. ?

* Respond to local queries regarding product compliance including working with local authorities to product compliance matters. ?

Ideally, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following skills and qualifications

* A degree in Chemistry (preferred) or other equivalent science (e.g. Biology, Toxicology, Safety or Industrial Hygiene)

* A solid background in ensuring compliance to international chemical control or other relevant legislation.

* Sufficient and strong experience in understanding and interpreting international chemical control and hazard communication legislation and linking it to product stewardship risk management.?

* Possess the ability to make independent contributions on a regular basis and self-initiate work activities.

You will have an empathetic, curious and enthusiastic nature and be able to work with various internal and external stakeholders across the product lifecycle to ensure compliance.

You will be expected to attend conferences and relevant trade association and expert committee/panel meetings with demonstrable up-to-date knowledge of international chemical control legislation through monitoring the regulatory environment, reviewing regulatory information and industry/ regulatory authority communications.
