The Opportunity
Our client are a multi-disciplinary engineering contractor, who are looking for experienced risk managers to be fully integrated and embedded into allocated project teams with a remit to ensure that the project teams and the client meet their risk management challenges through improved risk practice and awareness. You'll be responsible for management of the implementation and ongoing assurance of governance and any contract specific requirements.
As a commercially astute Risk Manager you'll work in collaboration with stakeholders at scheme level and you'll identify, analyse and develop responses to project risks, taking ownership and responsibility. You'll play an important role in developing a positive risk culture within the allocated projects, ensuring buy-in to the programmatic Alliance risk process and promoting the value that risk management provides. By embedding and championing best-practice risk management tools and techniques across the allocated programmes you'll enable a timely, efficient, safe and customer-focused delivery.

Supporting the Project Manager in developing a risk strategy and plan that supports project delivery of which the risk register must be a part.
Establishing, maintaining and regularly reviewing the project risk management plan.
Arrange timely risk reviews with risk owners and project team members as required, normally conducted weekly to a pre-planned schedule arranged with the project manager.
Identify the stages through which the package/project risk register should be developed.
Assess, using both qualitative and quantitative techniques, the threats, opportunities, probability and impact of the identified risks.
Identify, plan and monitor mitigation measures, reviewing risks as they are mitigated, contractual allocation and updating the risk register accordingly.
Maintain the risk register for the scheme.
Carry out risk workshops as and when required.
Risk reporting, ensuring information is consistently accurate and relevant.
Prior knowledge and use of Xactium software.

* Ensure the necessary Early Warning Notifications are raised in accordance with the main contract
* Ensure risk mitigation measures are progressed in response to EWN's
* Draft and update the scheme Risk Management Plan
* Manage risk and continuously develop the risk register into a management tool containing accurate and relevant information for reporting purposes
* Complete risk detail sheets for all risks to ensure accuracy
* Compile information to support and co-ordinate with QRA to be undertaken
* risk identification, qualitative and quantitative analysis, contractual allocation and preparing action plans;
* Manage the Risk Register including the main project register which will be in the clients risk management database (Xactium)
* Carry out risk workshops as and when required;
* Raise and respond to main contract early warning notifications, organising risk reduction meetings and progressing risk mitigation measures;
* Risk reporting, ensuring information is consistently accurate and relevant;
* Develop, implement and oversee effective and credible risk response and risk mitigation plans
* Develop and implement a systematic approach to risk review, ensuring that risks are robustly and routinely considered
* Ensure that the senior management team, are sufficiently sighted on and familiar with the project risk position
* Act as a conduit for the escalation of risk in line with established processes
* Be prepared to challenge risk owners and other individuals on their response to risk
* Contribute to the continual improvement in risk processes and the continual development of a risk mature culture across the project
* Produce risk reports and dashboards in line with project requirements

About You
* An experienced risk professional, skilled at embedding industry best-practice risk management tools and techniques (e.g. ISO 31000) within large scale, technical programmes.
* Skilled and experienced in NEC project and programme management and risk management methodologies (e.g. IRM, APM, PRINCE2, MSP, MoR).
* Skilled in qualitative and quantitative cost and time risk analysis (QCRA and QSRA).
* Skilled and experienced in the use of risk management systems and tools (e.g. Xactium).
* Strong verbal, written and presentational skills with a high level of analytical and numerate skills
* Self-motivated with good interpersonal skills working in a team environment
* Good attention to detail
* Excellent communication and presentational skills
* Able to use initiative
* Experience of capturing and analysing risk and issue management data both at a project and programme level
