The Legal Ombudsman is currently looking for a Risk Manager to join their Business Performance team on a permanent basis.

This role would normally be based in our offices in Birmingham, however due to the current pandemic the successful candidate will start the role at home. However, when we are able to have a safe return to office working, we can look at options of combining working from the office and from home subject to business needs.

The role

The Legal Ombudsman operates in a challenging business environment which requires us to continually assess and identify potential risks.

We are looking for a Risk Manager who can demonstrate and embed effective risk management techniques that will enable us to mitigate these appropriately.

In this brand-new role the successful candidate has a real opportunity to make a significant impact and support the Business Performance Manager in the management of risk.

Who we are looking for

The ideal candidate will have current experience of working in a similar role and be confident in their abilities to hit the ground running. This is a fast-paced role and requires someone with a good level of resilience and the ability to work under pressure.

We are looking for someone that has the ability to work collaboratively across functions and teams and influence colleagues across all levels.

It is essential that you can demonstrate knowledge and understanding of different risk management methodologies and techniques and be able to apply them appropriately.

As part of this role you will need to be confident in both verbal and written communication and be able to explain complex information clearly. Additionally, you will be someone that is highly organised, is able to work independently to achieve targets and deadlines, has good attention to detail and can prioritise complex and competing demands.

You must have competent working knowledge of Microsoft Office and have advanced skills in Excel. Previous experience of working with risk dashboards within Power Bi would be advantageous but not essential.
