Description:

As a security risk and compliance specialist, you will be responsible for providing protection of Rackspace and its customer's critical data assets from vulnerabilities and security threats. The security team works with and supports all aspects of security, risk, compliance and data protection across the global organization.

Job Purpose:

·To be responsible for managing and supporting the maintenance of the technical security and compliance aspects of Rackspace security services to its customers.

·To manage all aspects of customer's security, compliance and regulation requirements.

·Supporting, at both a corporate and service level: customer security operations, business continuity, security incidents and system changes. Including communicating gaps and vulnerabilities, generating security service reports, ensuring successful outcomes of audits, responding and investigating security incidents and owning customer requests for security solutions and guidance.

·A background in working with Government on security accreditation and developing RMADS a distinct advantage to assist with formal customer accreditation activities.


Key Accountabilities

·Lead on all requirements of PSN certifications and NCSC compliance requirements.

·Carry out regular technical audits, testing and technical configuration reviews of customer Platforms.

·Deliver quality security accreditation and certification documents required by customers.

·Security support to the service/project teams. Providing a deep level of security support and knowledge to customer facing teams.

·Attend customer security meetings and workshops, helping customers to make efficient risk based decisions. Owning outputs and actions ensuring they are completed in a timely manner.

·Ensure all staff working on customers workloads are sufficiently cleared and aware of customer requirements.

·Customer Security incident support root cause analysis. Investigate any security incidents and carry out a full investigation, and make detailed recommendations to the business.

·Security operations and Management. Ensure customers able to protect themselves from a malicious incident; by ensuring they have effective awareness of the Rackspace security services and there benefits.

·Carry out internal audits for compliance purposes.

·Threat awareness and reporting on vulnerabilities facing Rackspace customers. Writing detailed advisories on the threat and recommend options to mitigate.

·Support the detection, Investigation, response and recovery from incidents and system changes within Rackspace.

·Leading on authorizing, planning and reviewing external vulnerability scans and penetration tests; then creating pragmatic plans and workloads for rectification.

·Providing security governance, guidance and training to all parts of the business.


Person Specification

    • Strong demonstrable experience in a similar role
    • Excellent understanding of ESXi ,Windows and Unix/Linux operating systems
    • ISO 27001 or PCI technical compliance
    • Sound demonstrable understanding of network security technologies (including but not limited to, firewalls, SIEM, IPS/IDS, wireless, cryptography, remote access, proxies and gateways)
    • Incident response
    • Vulnerability Assessments
    • Security documentation creation to NCSC accreditation requirements
    • Will abide by Company policies including ISO security
    • Willingness to undergo government vetting for SC Clearance
    • Experience of Public Sector
    • Strong Verbal and written communication
    • Effective communication with customers
