We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Manager to lead the 2nd line Risk Oversight of Operational Resilience and Payment Risk.

You\'ll be responsible for providing expert advice on Virgin Money\'s approach to managing operational resilience and payments risk in line with UK regulatory and legal requirements, payment scheme rules and industry best practice. The role holder and team will provide oversight, challenge and guidance on systems and controls in place to manage resilience & payments risk across all Group entities and report on the performance of the control environment to appropriate management committees.

Day to Day you\'ll:
• Support business leaders in embedding a risk culture and risk management practices that are customer focused and help to deliver our vision for making you happier about money.
• Provide oversight, challenge and guidance on systems and controls in place to manage operational resilience & payments risk across all Group entities.
• Lead ongoing business engagement and partnership on operational resilience & payments risk topics, working closely with other Risk team members, business leadership team and 1st line control areas to ensure control frameworks are embedded and operating effectively.
• Build and maintain relationships with third parties, including suppliers, regulators and professional bodies.
• Be a respected authority on Operational Resilience & Payment Risk to influence and guide RLT, ELT and LT on strategies to achieve business objectives in line with risk appetite.
• Lead Risk\'s advice on risk for new initiatives and sponsor relevant Risk projects.
• Lead Risk oversight of business change on key projects as they relate to Operational Resilience or Payments Risk.
• Provide oversight and deliver SME assurance reviews and thematic deep dives, using the agreed methodology.
• Lead the maintenance and development of best practice risk management procedures to ensure effective risk oversight that meets regulatory requirements.
• Monitor the performance of the business and provide early warning of operational resilience & payment risk adverse risk trends and emerging risks.
• Produce consistent and accurate reports for senior leaders and the Executive.
• Support RLT in external reporting to Regulators.
• Overall responsibility for operational resilience and payment risk frameworks, processes, models and/or systems.
• Consult with the business to develop policy and risk appetite for recommendation to the Board.
• Interpret and oversee the implementation of the risk appetite of the Board into policies, processes, systems, models and limits.
• Recommend triggers and limits and oversee risk appetite reporting to the Board.

The role sits in the Risk area that also oversees Operational Risk, Technology & Cyber Risk, Change Risk and People Risk. The role works closely with other areas that own component parts of Operational Resilience Risk (people risk, 3rd party risk, technology risk) and with the business owners of frameworks.

There are a few essentials you need to bring:
• Relevant degree or professional qualification
• Significant experience in a resilience and payments risk discipline within Financial Services
• Understanding of Operational Resilience and Payment regulations
• Highly developed senior stakeholder management and communication expertise.
• Extensive Risk Management experience, covering different elements of the risk management framework
• Experience in producing reports for a variety of stakeholders, ensuring key messages are presented appropriately for the audience
• Broad knowledge of Risk Management disciplines and the three lines of defence model in place across the Group
• Comprehensive knowledge of the risk management framework in place across the Group and the elements that make it up
• Experience of successfully leading and inspiring teams
