We are pleased to be recruiting for a Senior Operational Risk Manager to join us.

Based within a commutable distance of our Bristol office, you will report to the UK Chief Risk Officer (CRO) and be responsible for development and implementing the local Operational Risk Management (ORM) framework strategy and to lead the maturing of the second line of defence (2LoD).

Responsibilities

  • Use experience, knowledge, and best-practice to develop a robust and proportionate strategy for the UK bank's operational risk management
  • Oversee development and maintenance of local framework, policy and methodology, and alignment with group operational risk policies and appetite
  • Establish and maintain strong and effective working relationships across the three lines model in place within the bank, in particular supporting the 1st line in embedding and continuous improvement of operational risk management
  • Review and challenge the overall TBUK risk register (within the central GRC tool), and ensure appropriate data governance is in place
  • Ensure effective management and challenge of First Line of Defence risk events
  • Oversee local operational risk monitoring and operational risk reporting
  • Develop and own the local ORM plan that supports Group requirements ensuring that it takes a strategic view and recognises the work carried out by other 2LoD teams and Internal Audit to ensure maximum value of oversight with minimum impact on the business
  • Manage the execution of the plan that enables you to form an independent opinion on operational risk management in TBUK
  • Identify and implement appropriate key risk indicators and other information that supports development of local risk appetite whilst remaining within Group appetite, and signal, communicate and escalate breaches of limits and thresholds at local level
  • Interpret results and provide insight and analysis that enhances the risk reporting to Management and the local Non-Financial Risk Committee
  • Monitor and report on local product approval and review activities providing oversight to ensure compliance with local and group policies
  • Consult in the review of products, including intention to develop a new or changed product, the development of a new product, and advising the PAC/NFRC
  • Develop and lead activities that improve the business' understanding and ownership of risk management, including overseeing the development and delivery of training materials and sessions
  • Ensure timely and comprehensive regulatory reporting relating to operational risk matters, including ownership and delivery of the annual operational risk stress testing activity related to the Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP)
  • Ensure that the local Non-Financial Risk Committee is administered effectively and efficiently through provision of quality papers, accurate and timely minutes and tracked actions

You will possess extensive experience within the Operational Risk Management field and/or appropriate audit experience, as well as current knowledge of risk management tools and processes, and relevant regulations, including experience of operational risk stress testing relevant to ICAAP methodology and calculations. You should have strong organisational and communication skills with a high attention to detail and the ability to explain and adapt best practice to the Triodos environment, and a proven ability to build strong relationships and influence at all levels of the business.

Instead, we have an extensive benefits package where most of our benefits are non-contributory. In return for your commitment and hard work, you will be rewarded with competitive salary of up to £60,000 (depending on experience), plus a non-contributory benefits scheme, which includes:
