Senior Risk Business Analyst

Role Profile

MLM is an IT system used by the Fixed Income Securities Clearing business line in Paris (Repoclear SA FLR). It is being built by a team of 6 people (3 BA/4 Developers/2 testers) based in London. The role would be to provide business analysis for the enhancements of MLM from a Risk perspective, as part of change projects led by Repoclear SA FLR, and ensure that changes to service(s) are fully assessed to enable a suitable solution to be developed and perform testing to ensure that projects are delivered with the right level of quality, in line with the business expectations. The Business Analyst will also coordinate the activities of the IT development activities in close relation with First Line Risk team in Paris

Key Responsibilities

Scrum leader

  • Define and implement a scrum/Agile based organisation for the team
  • Coordinate the scum activities

Business analyst

  • Analyse the impact on Risk Management of new products and service enhancements for introduction into the Securities Clearing area;
  • Liaise with First Line Risk SA to ensure that risk requirements are captured and documented as appropriate;
  • Liaise with First Line Risk SA to ensure that test cases are produces, consistently with requirements and with the appropriate level of detail and coverage;
  • Liaise with the relevant IT teams to ensure that risk requirements are adequately understood;
  • Produce project documentation, as required by the Project Governance;
  • Ensure that procedures are produced/updated as required;
  • Work with all interested parties to identify solutions, ensuring that they are effectively communicated to all parties;
  • Help First Line Risk defining test scenarios for User Acceptance Testing and other test phases;
  • Execute Functional/User Acceptance Testing and other relevant test phases, ensuring defects are raised appropriately.
  • Ensure appropriate test documentation is reviewed and produced for all relevant test phases.
  • Liaise with other stakeholders, both internal and external, to progress requirements into development phase.
  • Perform training and ensure knowledge is transferred to staff.
  • Build strong relationships with all key individuals within First Line Risk, Product teams, Operations and IT.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Educated to university degree level
  • Excellent understanding of risk models, such as Value at Risk (VaR)
  • Solid knowledge of Fixed Income and Equities products
  • Experience in Scrum/Agile
  • Experience of working in/for risk management.
  • Experience of working on large scale projects and conducting business analysis.
  • Experience of producing Functional Specifications for Systems
  • Experience in producing stories and acceptance criteria, following the Agile framework
  • String Leader skills
  • Some knowledge of JIRA
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Good organisational skills and demonstrates the ability to work within and adhere to tight deadlines
  • Ability to use own initiative and of a pro-active nature
  • Knowledge of a programming language
  • Knowledge of LCH systems & processes
