Hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week/flexible days and/or hours (Mon-Fri)

Salary: Up to £71,250 per annum maximum depending on location and experience

THE ROLE

You will support the Financial Risk Director and Chief Risk Officer in managing risk across the British Business Bank (BBB) but with a specific focus on managing financial risk across the Bank's guarantee and wholesale portfolios. The guarantee and wholesale product team are responsible for BBB's Enable Programmes, Recovery Loan Scheme and the Covid Guarantee Schemes including the Coronavirus Business Interruption Loan Scheme (CBILS), the Coronavirus Large Business Interruption Loan Scheme (CLBILS) and Bounce Back Loan Scheme (BBLS).

Reporting to the Director for Financial Risk, you will complete risk analysis for new transactions, including the analysis of historic portfolio data, financial modelling, transaction structure and terms and documentation protections. You will attend investment committees and exercise delegated credit approval authority where necessary in addition to providing risk input into the design of new products. You will work closely with the

product team to undertake risk assessments, due diligence and operational reviews on delivery partners and counterparties and to carry out periodic portfolio reviews.

It is essential that you have a good understanding of securitisation/structured finance/guarantee/wholesale products and markets in addition to demonstrable experience in financial modelling, portfolio data analysis and extrapolation. You will have a good understanding of rating methodologies and probability of default/loss given default models. It is essential that you have substantial expertise in Microsoft Excel and that you are competent with Word and PowerPoint. It would be desirable if you had experience of SME lending and the associated risks. Knowledge of Microsoft Power BI and VBA would also be an advantage.
