The Role:
Here at the Mears Group, we are searching for an experienced Water Hygiene Risk Assessor to help benefit the lives of their local community. You will undertake site visits, and surveys to produce water hygiene risk assessments in line with current legislation and requirements. The incumbent will also be expected to manage Water Hygiene Technicians.


This is a Permanent Position offering a Salary of £34,000. Primary location will be in Rotherham however you will be responsible for local and national travel with potential overnight stays.

Responsibilities of the role:

  • Completing legionella risk assessment surveys on a variety of sites, from industrial and process to healthcare, food and beverage to leisure and hospitality, offices to retail, education to local authority
  • Producing detailed legionella risk assessment reports using a tablet driven software system
  • Producing schematic drawings using Visio
  • Combine site working with home or office work for timely report completion
  • Offering technical advice and support to customers
  • Completing complex surveys, site risk assessments and reports across all three delivery areas (H&C, HTM and Cooling)
  • Working to agreed schedules and SLA's
  • Offering a first-class service to all customers, ensuring that all works completed are in line with industry guidelines and customer specifications
  • Carrying out relevant documentation and administrative tasks
  • Keep up to date with, and understand, relevant laws, regulations and internal policies
  • To attend client meetings as required
  • To act at all times in accordance with Mears Group Policies, Processes and systems
  • Compliance with ISO9001, 14001 and 18001 at all times
  • Support and participate in the continuous improvement of the Water Hygiene function
  • To be willing to operate Mears IT systems

What we need from you:
It is essential that you have Legionella Awareness Training and have experience of working within Social Housing with Significant experience of working in a multi-site social housing operation or facilities
Experience of landlord's hazards and their control
Knowledge of legionella risk assessments
Organised and logical approach to work with excellent attention to detail
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to relate to external and internal contacts in a positive way
Management environment and possibly Legionella Risk Assessor qualifications
Able to use a variety of IT systems, Full, current driving licence
Able to work alone or as part of a team
Demonstrates company values ALWAYS putting the customer first
