What impact will you make? The Opportunity Data sits at the heart of every organisation and is relied upon for all aspects of operations, analysis, decision-making, reporting and planning. As part of the largest Risk Analytics practice in the UK, our practitioners understand exactly how data underpins a business and how improving the management and use of this data improves the performance of the business. We are seeking a person with great design and development capabilities, who can augment our rapidly growing Solutions team. Our Solutions team is designed to provide technology based managed services and solutions to our clients in areas ranging from cognitive technology, real time performance analytics, data engineering, regulatory compliance and operational management to consumer facing mobile apps. Our Solutions team operates within the Risk Advisory part of the Deloitte business, a 250m part of Deloitte in the UK. We operate our own cloud based technology stacks (hosted on AWS and Azure platforms), whilst also offering on premise delivery to our clients. Our technology stack comprises a number of different open source and proprietary technologies, which we pre-connect to enable our clients and our advisory teams to leverage world class analytics at speed and scale. This role is about enhancing our cloud capabilities to support new and existing solutions. The role will primarily be as a solution architect with strong cloud and platform architecture/engineering skill. Supporting our core advisory services, and using a range of analytical tools and technologies to deal with data issues, we help reveal new opportunities to our clients through better use of their data. We work with leading blue chip and public sector clients to help them realise the value of their data. This ranges from: generating reliable information (for example, data quality, mastering, and governance); to diagnostic analysis and value added analytics (for example, improving operational performance) in areas relating to customers, patients, citizens, workforce, finance, operations, supply chain, fraud, and, risk and regulation. In addition, we provide advisory services in the core capabilities of information management, management reporting and data science.Risk Analytics is an integral part of Deloitte's capabilities, and our OneDeloitte strategy enables individuals to work with our specialists in different areas across the business. Role description There is an expectation that the successful candidate will work with our advisory teams to enable the design and build of repeatable analytics solutions, and to help drive innovation through proof of concepts and underlying capability build. As a Data Solution Architect (Senior Consultant grade) in our Solutions team, you will: Engage with clients and advisory teams to understand in detail their specific needs; Solve the challenge of integrating disparate sources of enterprise data and information to model and visualise our clients businesses and derive insight; Design and develop solutions for reporting and analytics; Develop solutions and processes to deliver the right level of data quality; Have the opportunity to work on projects at a strategic, tactical and operational level; Develop and maintain long lasting relationships with senior client stakeholders, both during and outside of project delivery; and Work for the highest profile regional clients in the Midlands, the UK and overseas. LocationYour office will be based in London, but a proportion of your time may be spent on client sites.ResponsibilitiesYou will work directly with stakeholders and team members to define, design and deliver actionable insights while working with ETL and BI tools in an agile environment. Role responsibilities include: Use and implementation of analytics technologies to deliver solutions and outcomes to our clients; Taking responsibility for client deliverables; Supporting the development of client bids and the presentation of proposals; Delivering a portfolio of large and complex analytics engagements across our business; Providing risk analytics services to top tier clients; Building and developing long terms relationships with senior stakeholders across our client organisations; Act as a role model - help to develop and mentor junior resources; and To have a broader perspective of potential issues encountered when managing diverse teams and the strategies to overcome them; have a clear understanding of the Firms commitment to creating a more inclusive culture. Requirements Operated in, or have experience of Information Management within the manufacturing, retail or public sector industry groups. This may be through a professional services firm. Proficient in building self-service BI solutions. Experience with data quality, integrity and reliability and promoting best practices. In-depth understanding of database management systems, OLAP/OLTP and ETL (Extract, transform, load) framework. Experience delivering services related to one or more of core Information Management domains: Data Architecture; Data Strategy; Data Governance; Master Data Management; Visualisation; Analytical modelling; Big data; Leading engagements delivering, working with or knowledge of a range of tools/technologies such as: RDBMS/Database (for example, MS SQL Server, MySQL, Redshift); ETL Tools (for example, SSIS, Informatica, Pentaho, Alteryx); Visualization tools (for example, Power BI, QlikSense, QlikView, Tableau); Cloud technologies (for example, AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure) Programming languages (for example, Python, C#) Strong delivery skills. Willing to learn and pick-up new technologies to support proof of concepts. Ability to take initiative in different and challenging environments. Strong planning, organisation and people management skills. Experience developing, managing, strengthening and broadening key client relationships. The ability to determine client needs by supplementing the standard assessment techniques and tools with innovative approaches. Exceptional communication, presentation, business writing and professional skills, including being able to liaise with both technical and business contacts at our clients. Understanding of, and experience with, the development of solutions beyond the proof of concept stage into industrial-strength products. Degree or relevant professional qualification and/or significant relevant consulting expertise. Additional Desirable Experience Application experience of robotics and/or computer vision Knowledge of Data science (for example, R, Python, Alteryx, SAS, SPSS) and Big data tools (for example, Hadoop, Spark) Postgraduate degree in a scientific subject (Mathematics, Natural Sciences, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Data Science, Engineering, etc.) or equivalent and/or relevant professional qualification and/or significant relevant consulting/industry expertise.
