We are seeking a digital asset junior technician for our Digital Asset Management (DAM) solution, who will be responsible for assisting the team in managing the systems users and delivering effective training to them, help maintaining the system taxonomy, and work to customise the DAM systems widget based Front End using Google web toolkit, HTML, and JavaScript. This is a junior entry level position that will sit within the DAM team and act as a conduit between the DAM Co-ordinator, technician and the CMS development team.

Job Purpose 

  • To work with the users of the DAM system to aid in their use and navigation around and create workspaces within the system to fit documented use cases. To liaise with business areas in order to understand their working processes, and in collaboration with the Digital Content Platforms Manager and DAM Technician, ensure a smooth transition to managing their content in the DAM system. To work within the front UI of the system, customising workspaces using the core system tools. To also assist the DAM technician in defining some basic Back End requirements, and to assist in the building, and if necessary, technical development of workflows.

Day-to-day Responsibilities


  • Be the main point of advice and work around Front End development of the DAM system
  • Create and maintain up-to-date DAM technical documentation
  • Help to maintain an active registry of DAM users and permissions
  • Document technical workflows created around the DAM system.
  • Provide business analysis support through consultation with business areas in order to ascertain and document workflows and processes.
  • Raise and monitor system development tickets with the DAM system supplier as and when required.
  • Work with the DAM team to champion and develop the DAM system, vocabulary, taxonomy and workflows in line with business requirements.


  • Work with the digital asset technician and DAM coordinator to customise workspaces using HTML, CSS and JavaScript
  • Assist the team in creation of workflows within the DAM system using Java as well as Front End based development tools
  • Work with the CMS developers to learn what requirements the system may have in terms of integration.

Essential Skills & Requirements


  • Ability to communicate with colleagues at all levels of the business
  • Interest and knowledge in Digital Asset Management and media management practice
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Google Web Toolkit
  • Excellent administrative skills.
  • Focused on excellent communication and customer service.
  • Excellent eye for detail.
  • Proven ability to work to stringent deadlines.

Desirable skills 

  • Some awareness of DAM systems.
  • Some experience working with Back End programming language such as Java
  • Previous experience in training groups and individuals.

Core capabilities 

  • Must be patient, energetic, and consistent with a clear approach to process orientation.
  • Ability to communicate with users in a patience and consistent manner and produce supporting documentation.
  • Must be structured in day to day working patterns.
