Senior Problem and Risk Analyst
Description
An immediate opportunity has arisen for a Senior Problem and Risk Analyst to join Capita Plc on a permanent basis based in York. You will be joining the UK's market leading business process outsourcing organisation and member of the FTSE 100. This division of Capita are a market leader in providing mission-critical systems and services to police, fire and ambulance agencies as well as national organisations such as the Maritime and Coastguard Agency, the Highways Agency, British transport Police, RAF Search and Rescue and the Ministry of Defence Police.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Minimising the adverse impact of incidents and problems on the business caused by errors within the IT Infrastructure and preventing recurrence of incidents relating to these errors
- Managing the operational risk process of identifying, quantifying and managing the risks that exist in the operational environment
- Identifying the root cause of incidents and initiating actions to improve or correct the situation, or gaining business acceptance to live with the known error
- Driving and managing the investigation into the root cause of the incidents through to closure
- Reactively solving problems in response to one or more incidents
- Pro-actively identifying and solving problems before incidents occur
- Adhering to contractual SLA process requirements and Capita service support processes requirements
- Holding major problem reviews and creating major problem reports
- Participating in internal and external audits as required
- Managing problems assigned by the Problem Manager
- Ensuring workarounds are found and recorded within the toolset
- Risks deemed to be critical should have a contingency plan detailing actions that may be taken should the risk be realised
- Travelling may be a part of the role as there is a need to support a national client base

Essential skills:

- Worked as a Problem Manager or Risk Manager within an IT environment
- Experience of both risk and problem management within IT
- Strong analytical skills to spot trends with calls or problems
- Able to be proactive in managing risks or problems
- ITIL experience
- Strong customer facing skills

Desired skills:

- Practitioner level problem management certification or equivalent experience
- Relationship management skills
- ITIL process owner

Personal characteristics:

- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability and confidence to negotiate
- Good team working skills
- Effective decision making skills
